2011 NEWS:  Our new Foster Home will open in October 2011

Violence against women in the family is rife in Nepal. Research shows this to be especially so in the case of trafficking victims who marry, with the husband often becoming resentful or jealous, and the children often carrying psychological scars of a violent family life. AN has been working towards providing respite care for children in such situations and in October 2011 will open its first foster home unit for children needing short-term respite.

The project will be run by AN with input from a partner INGO, who have experience of similar projects in other countries. The project is fully funded.
