SOS Bahini, Pokhara

SOS ("Save Our Sisters") Bahini is a Nepali-run NGO that cares for girls in a family environment. The 26 girls in their care have come from desperate situations (sexually and/or physically abused, orphaned, in forced labour, homeless, suffering from the effects of severe poverty, at risk of being trafficked). They live in homes with a house mother and go to local schools, and take part in counselling and awareness programmes, and creative educational and vocational projects - including the recent My World, My View photography project that has led to a book and international exhibitions.

Delhi

Asha-Nepal also support STOP, a women’s rights and anti-trafficking organisation working in Delhi and have close links with two schools STOP run in major slums where many girls have been abducted and sold to brothels.
